Evensong

Evensong
Synopsis
In 1991, I was awarded a creative fellowship to spend the summer at the Alden B. Dow Creativity Center, in Midland, Michigan.
I spent 10 weeks researching the lives of six U.S. citizens between the ages of 80 and 101, and wove their memories into a play that celebrates some of the hard working, lovable people who formed this country.
Each character went through the Depression and the Second World War. All were survivors who triumphed over adversity in ways that were important to them.
